ReplyDeleteIt would be the first time the Democrats have renominated a loser since 1956. The party kingmakers would have to be in mortal fear for their lives to take such a step, as Clinton is even less popular today, after three-plus years of excuse making and evasions of her overtly criminal behavior, than she was in November 2016.
That having been said, a Sanders nomination would result in the Democrats' utter ruination. It's going to be interesting to watch how the kingmakers squirm and contort the rules to prevent that from happening. But to whom will the nomination go? Bloomberg might have a slight edge, but considering his weakness as a national figure, I'd call it six-five and pick 'em between him and Warren.

ReplyDeleteTPTB know that Bernie will get creamed. So look for them to somehow kneecap him, and "for the good of the party" tap her. And she will - gag alert - step forward to take on the task "sorrowfully and reluctantly, but with a deep love of country and respect for the Constitution, because nobody is above the law". Or some such tripe.

DeleteIt's been reported that some of the "Bernie Bros" have said that "Milwaukee will burn" if Bernie Gets the shaft. And I would think that whoever the Dems parachute in to "save the day" won't have their votes on Election Day. --Ron W
