Kirstie Alley: New Oscars Inclusion Requirements ‘A Disgrace To Artists Everywhere’ "You people have lost your minds."

LAS VEGAS, NV - AUGUST 05: Actress Kirstie Alley speaks during the 15th annual official Star Trek convention at the Rio Hotel & Casino on August 5, 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

On Tuesday, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) released its new guidelines for inclusion, which dictated that movies must meet a diversity threshold, employing specific minority individuals in front of or behind the camera to qualify for Best Picture. As The Los Angeles Times reported:
Those standards require one of the following: at least one of the lead actors or significant supporting actors is from an underrepresented racial or ethnic group; at least 30% of all actors in secondary and more minor roles are from certain underrepresented groups; or the main storyline, theme or narrative is centered on an underrepresented group.

  1. That's what you would expect a racist like her to say. (Sarcasm)

  2. I gave up watching pro sports 40 years ago. I gave up watching movies made after John Wayne died. What's next on the list that the Liberals will make me stop indulging in?

  3. We are back to the days of having a "TOKEN" instead of hiring someone with merit.

  4. The obvious solution is that they will hire 30% more people. Some to make the movie and some to check the block. Of course, movies that have no pretensions about winning awards will just skip it.

  5. I've been permanently banned from Twitter 5 times. Ran out of phone numbers. LOL. Hollywood types don't like when you get back in there face. Don't ever compliment Tom Arnold on his cute daughter. Actually a son named Jax with hair down to the middle of his back. But one pleasant surprise was Kristie Alley. My last exit she was definitely headed down the conservative path. Her and Rose Ann Barr were both pretty cool.
