Why Joe Biden can't resign, or be removed — or die

 DATED

In the wake of the Afghanistan debacle, demands have arisen in Congress for President Biden to resign or to be removed via the 25th Amendment.  Elements of the formerly pro-Biden media have joined in the condemnation.

Many silent Democrat office-holders likely want Biden out, as they fear that the systemic incompetence of his administration will bring them down come 2022.

But Joe cannot resign or be fired.  The Democrat high command will not let either happen, no matter the short-term political cost.

On the surface, that makes little sense.  Joe's resignation or removal would not alter Democrat control of the presidency and Congress.  If Joe leaves, Kamala Harris becomes president.  She is incompetent, too, but no more so than Joe, and is on board with the administration's radical agenda.

So.  Why can't Joe quit the office or be removed?

  1. The great flaw in that logic is presuming The Turtle will do the right thing.
    I wouldn't count on that.

  2. Catch-25 is the reason: The 25th Amendment doesn't remove the POTUS (sham or otherwise), it just temporarily allows the Vice-president (or next in line) to assume the powers of the Presidency until such time as the president is able to resume his duties. No 'Acting VP' is appointed in this instance. As the senate is divided 50-50, the dems will lose the tie-breaking vote advantage they currently enjoy. There goes the dem's agenda circling down the drain.

Should Below Average Joe die in Office, Hot Lips becomes president and may choose her new VP - subject to Senate consent. Since there is no vp until the Senate approves one, there is no tie-breaker vote.

The dems are stymied and the American people are fucked.

    1. Senate consent.

I imagine some of the NEOCONS would vote with the Dems, unfortunately.

  3. American thinker is day dreaming. They knew Joe condition and they know Kamala's low IQ. When Kennedy died, LBJ took the Oath of President. No one filled the VP seat for remainder of term. 25th Amendment: Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress.
So Kamala doesn't have to have a VP. Next in line is Pelosi.
No Joe has become a liability being part brain dead and is getting harder to control with his arguing. Kamala being a women will be asset for votes plus she knows what happens to those who cross the Red State. No they plan this bs way back under Bush 41. Trump was just a speed bump.

    1. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't the Pro Tempore become VP if Kamala becomes POTUS?

    2. The 20th amendment states that the VP is the President of the Senate. In absence of a VP a Pro Tempore takes over only the duties a "President of the Senate" has in the senate. Which are few. The Pro Tempore still retains his or her Senate duties and abilities. But is never the duties of the VP of USA.

  4. Faulty thinking. 17 Republicans voted with the Democrats on their infastructure bill. We've got too many Republicans eager to help the Democrats destroy our country.
On another note; isn't it strange that the Biden administration gave the Taliban the names of all the people they were going to evacuate from Afganistan but they won't give us Americans the name of the terrorist they supposedly killed.

  5. Biden has never been anything but a stupid, lying, political hack. He's never been right about anything. If he were on the Talibans' side, what would he be doing differently?

  6. People somehow seem to think that Bitch McConnell is on our side...he's NOT.

  7. Mcconnell will not become anything, it will be Grassley from what I understand. And Kamala is uneligible to be president. Neither one of her parents were citizens when she was born.

Didn't work for Obama, unfortunately. :(
