US Military Is ‘Right There on the Edge.’ Here’s What’s Driving Its ‘Marginal’ Status.

With aging equipment, a lack of adequate funding, and limited production capabilities, the U.S. military is ranked “marginal” at best. That’s the conclusion of the 2022 Index of U.S. Military Strength, an annual report from The Heritage Foundation that assesses the status of the military and the global threat level to the United States, which was released Wednesday.

“It’s right there on the edge. It could handle one major war for, we believe, a limited period of time, but it couldn’t do anything other than that,” said Dakota Wood, the lead editor of the index and a senior research fellow at The Heritage Foundation’s Center for National Defense. 1. It's disturbing that they're giving this information to the entire world. If it's true, why are we spending enormous sums of money on re-homing illegal immigrants, climate change, examining rocks on Mars, forcing people to have a substance injected into their bodies in order to work, and all the other foolishness our government finances? And why did we leave all that military equipment in Afganistan?

  4. " a lack of adequate funding" the author is joking right? We spend more on our military than the other top 8 countries COMBINED. If that's not enough, it'll never be enough.

Maybe it's time to revert to the wisdom of the founders regarding standing armies.

    Y'all have a nice day.

  5. When the first words are "with aging equipment... lack of "adequate" funding... you can take it to the bank that everything you read after is total uninformed bullshit.

    1. For decades, BisonPrepper James M Dakin patiently explained the lack of infrastructure maintenance:
      * a clue TheRulingElites are abandoning an area is the reduction in maintaining roads, utilities, policing.
      .
      To this, I add:
      * TheRulingElites abandoned the American military.
      .
      1979-89, I owned a restaurant business.
If a menu item was under-performing, I pulled it, then replaced it with something profitable.
      .
Do you suppose TheRulingElites (aka YourBetters) see Americans as a liability on the profit/loss statement?
I liked ravioli in mushroom sauce, but I dumped it off the menu with zero-zero-zero sentimentality.
At the time, I was heart-broken... "My baby! Gone!"
Looking back, this decision benefited everybody.
