Being a Marine gave him the proper mindset...but he was lucky. The perp could have easily retained control of the gun and killed him. The outcome was favorable but it's not a recommended tactic.
Totally professional without hesitation. The goon, criminal was totally caught off guard. Helped that the criminal was pretty close by for the lunge. Excellent.
