Bench Seats

Via Andrew Ramirez

May be an image of car and text that says 'WHOEVER IT WAS WHO DECIDED TAKE AWAY THE BENCH SEATS OBVIOUSLY NEVER HAD A GIRLFRIEND.'

  1. I still miss vent windows and kick panel vents. And yeah, A bench seat is Good. And they were comfortable, too. I'd like to talk to the clown who thinks a headrest should jut forward so my chin is sticking out six inches. And the curved seats that drive my shoulders together? WTF dude!? Your family own the chiropractor shop?

  3. Why I still own my 2000 Chevy PU, automatic, bench seats, and no airbag! Nothing like your cutey snuggling up to ya when you are cruising...But I do miss my vent windows, does that date me?

Don't know when they were stopped but would be sometime after '75.

  4. Yeah, bench seats are very comfortable to lie on. My '76 Dodge Adventurer had this, along with blanket seat cover with rifle scabbard under legs along the bottom. Awesome utility, carried a single shot 20 gauge shotgun on drivers side and a .22 bolt action on passenger side, sewing a divider in center to keep muzzles from bumping each other.

    1. Once I had a 1955 Chrysler with the 354 Hemi. Paid $200 for it. :)

  6. I miss 4 things: 1-My 1962 Ford Galaxie with bench seats. 2-A couple six-packs of Ballentine beer. 3-A liberal minded cute girl. 4-The local drive-in.

    2. I had a 1959 Galaxie 500 ragtop in high school. Never could get the windshield wipers to work, so I took the lever under the dash loose and worked the driver's side by hand when it rained.

    3. Mine had the 352 in it with auto trans. Funny thing, one of my buddies had a 1959 two door hardtop and my ignition key fit his car also. We grew up in a small town and everytime I caught his car parked somewhere, with him not around, I would move it somewhere else. I left it where he could see it when he came back but it would be in a different place. I don't know if he knows to this day that I was the one doing that.

    4. 1972.
      '65 El Camino.
After several ten-hour shifts at Fort Sam with some difficult detentions, I showered and zonked.
Next morn, I discovered my ride bumper-to-bumper between two trees.
I took nearly an hour to wiggle it loose, back-n-forth an inch at a time.
      .
Nobody copped, but I have my suspicions.
Thing is, I lived way out among rural farms... with security dogs I trained.
None of the dogs got upset.

    1. Once a girl's Birthday Party consisted of a hay wagon pulled by a tractor which went to the drive in. Fun.

  8. Reminds of the "good old days", spending Saturday (night) in park. Paradise by the dashboard light.
