Rifle optics ... what you "see," and what you don't "see"

Via Theo Spark

to the rifle range, to see how my new load for my model 98 mauser in 7mm remington magnum is going to shoot at longer ranges. for years i have shot a standard load consisting of a 175 grain nosler partition at about 2900 fps, +/- 25 fps or so, from my model 70 winchester. the new load for the mauser is a 130 grain sierra matchking (bthp) at a little over 3100 fps or so, in the winter weather.

speaking of which, it was about 34 degrees f. when i got to the range, low dark clouds & little light, a couple inches of new snow on the ground, and a steady wind of 5 miles an hour or so from the south. i was pretty bundled up, underwear, wool shirt & sweater and duck parka, but even so i wasn't "toasty" until i got a balaclava over my mouth and neck, and under my fleece beanie. then, i could go a while with my gloves off, but, without it, my hands cooled almost as soon as the gloves came off.

A STATEMENT ON TECHNOLOGICAL DISPARITY AND ATTITUDE

LANGUAGE

I recognize we’re a culture (both Western Civilization in general, and American culture specifically) that values technology. Hell, I’m GLAD I live in the 21st Century. I guarantee my daughter’s birth was hell for easier than it would have been 100 years ago, and light years beyond what it would have been 200 years ago. In a nutshell, technology is our friend.

Unfortunately, we sometimes place TOO much emphasis on technology. It is easy to look at the technological advances made in the last three decades—Hell, in the last decade, even—and think,

The following information represents a nearly complete list of the actual physical locations of fusion centers around the United States. If the listed mailing address is identical to the physical address, this indicates that the fusion center operates in a transparent manner and has publicly disseminated its actual physical location. If the mailing address is different from the physical address or if there is no mailing address, this indicates that the fusion center has not publicly disseminated its actual physical location. The data is believed to be current as of December 2010.

UPDATE: Public Intelligence has obtained a complete list of the sixty-two DHS Intelligence Officers deployed to fusion centers throughout the United States and the six Regional Directors of the national fusion center network.

Confederate Heritage Rally 2012 Richmond ,VA February 25

All roads lead to Richmond! The 2012 Heritage Rally will take place in Richmond, Va where the permanent government of the Confederate States of America established its capitol and formed its government. The day they chose for this was February 22nd, the birthday of the man who was the icon of American Constitutional government and a Southerner, George Washington. In fact the Statue of Washington on the Statehouse grounds in Richmond is the image on the Great Seal of the Confederacy. Therefore the event is being held on the nearest Saturday to allow more the chance to attend.

The plan is to have a Heritage Parade down Monument Ave and rally around the statue of Robert E. Lee for the festivities. More details to be announced later.

As was the case for the 2011 Rally, here are the parade line up and rules.
