4 Ronald Reagan historians have slammed the portrayal of former President Reagan in the movie "The Butler," saying that the 40th president's "attitudes toward race" as shown in the movie are inaccurate.
They begin the article, "What 'The Butler' gets wrong about Ronald Reagan and race," published in The Washington Post, by recounting instances in Reagan's life when he decried racism and took a stand for the African-American community.

WAMC Al Jazeera America began broadcasting in the U.S. August 20. Assemblyman Kieran Lalor, a Fishkill Republican, says constituents began calling and emailing him, saying they were offended that Al Jazeera programming was part of a basic pre-paid package. He says he then stumbled across the channel while searching for a Yankees game at a family barbeque.
Lalor, a Marine Corps veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, says he has written to executives at Verizon, which is his provider, Comcast, DirecTV, and Dish Network, asking them to drop Al Jazeera America from their basic cable packages.He says he purposely chose the anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks as the deadline for cable companies to remove Al Jazeera from the package.
Lalor says if Al Jazeera America is not removed from basic cable packages by September 11, he will lead a boycott of the providers.

In an appearance on the “Morning Joe” show Tuesday, MSNBC host Chris Matthews declared confidently that Adolf Hitler did not use chemical weapons in World War II.
Matthews compared the dictator of Nazi Germany to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, stating (emphasis added):
The problem is, I don’t like it, first of all I’m rather dovish, I don’t like what I’m going to say but it’s true. If you basically put down a red line and say don’t use chemical weapons, and it’s been enforced in the Western community, around the world–international community for decades – don’t use chemical weapons. We didn’t use them in World War II, Hitler didn’t use them, we don’t use chemical weapons, that’s no deal. Although we do know that Assad’s father did. And then he goes ahead and does it. It makes you wonder what the mullahs will do if they have a couple of nuclear weapons, just a couple. Are they capable of not using them? And that, of course, you know, I think that everybody talking this morning is projecting toward that, which is if you can’t use deterrents the normal way – mutually assured destruction – you can’t say, if you do this, we’re blowing you up. If that doesn’t work, what does work? And that’s the problem.

legs and still could lose her arm from combat injuries, felt that this

NBC poll: Nearly 80 percent want congressional approval on Syria
Nearly 80 percent of Americans believe President Barack Obama should receive congressional approval before using force in Syria, but the nation is divided over the scope of any potential strike, a new NBC News poll shows.
The
White House telephone briefing with top members of Congress left many
wanting a lot more details on the mission, as Britain chooses not to
strike. NBC's Andrea Mitchell reports.
Fifty percent of
Americans believe the United States should not intervene in the wake of
suspected chemical weapons attacks by Syrian President Bashar Assad,
according to the poll. But the public is more supportive of military
action when it's limited to launching cruise missiles from U.S. naval
ships - 50 percent favor that kind of intervention, while 44 percent
oppose it.
