May 2015 Dallas PD: So many officers are leaving the department that officers have to wait to quit

Via comment by Anonymous on First of Murdered Dallas Cops Identified as Marine...

Dallas police officers are leaving in droves.

We talked to an officer whose last day was Wednesday. He joins more than 40 others who quit in the month of May.

He asked we not identify him.

"I'm going to go to a city that respects officers," he said. "I'm going to a city that will appreciate my skill set."

The officer has worked at DPD for 10 years.

NO TO NEWT! A Gingrich VP Pick Will Only Weaken Trump

Via Frank

readmylipsnonewtperiod

If Newt Gingrich becomes Trump’s running mate, we may win everything–and end up with nothing.

A reluctant Teddy Roosevelt wrote Senator Thomas Platt in 1900 that, “I would a great deal rather be anything, say professor of history, than vice president” [Theodore Roosevelt on Leadership, by James M. Strock, p. 39 (2009)]. Though an accomplished scholar, Roosevelt never had the opportunity to teach history. Now, a former history professor, Newt Gingrich, seems eager to become vice president and may well get his wish. But he shouldn’t.

After Gingrich opened for him in Cincinnati last night, Donald Trump said that “In one form or another, Newt Gingrich is going to be involved with our government,” and “I’m not saying it’s Newt, but if it’s Newt, no one’s going to be beating him in those debates”.  [Donald Trump: Newt Gingrich Will Be ‘Involved With Our Government’, Fortune, July 6, 2016]

Gingrich is also popular with the GOP grassroots and with Trump’s base. He won a Drudge Report poll for VP candidates, and many of Trump’s most right wing supporters want him [Drudge Poll: Trump Should Pick Gingrich for VP, Newsmax, July 5, 2016].

I believe this is folly. Put bluntly, Gingrich would be a disaster, both by contradicting Trump’s core America First message and harming Trump’s electability.

Confederate flag flies again – temporarily – at State House

After its removal from the State House grounds a year ago, the Confederate flag was back – if just for the day.

Flag supporters staged a rally on the grounds Sunday – the one-year anniversary of the flag’s removal from a Confederate soldiers memorial – where an honor guard of Confederate re-enactors raised the flag once again on a temporary pole in the same spot.

But it would fly only until the event permit expired, at 5 p.m. Sunday.

Are militant groups directing or inspiring attacks on police?

Via Billy "OF COURSE, THEY ADVOCATE KILLING POLICE & WHITES."

*The $PLC just loves these killings.

Police shootings of black men in Louisiana and Minnesota were followed by calls from black militant groups and others to seek vengeance against officers. Almost immediately, several officers were attacked, including the five slain by a sniper in Dallas.

Authorities are now investigating whether the Dallas gunman was directed by groups such as the African American Defense League or the New Black Panther Party or merely emboldened by them.

"I think it's safe to say we'll leave no stone unturned," Dallas Deputy Chief Scott Walton said.

Police have been tight-lipped about exactly what they're investigating and what they've uncovered so far. Although Micah Johnson was connected to several militant groups on social media, it's unclear if he was merely a follower or a more active participant.

Similar questions have been raised by international terrorist organizations such as the Islamic State group: How is the network encouraging and directing attacks? Is it a coordinated effort or are the attacks simply a byproduct of the hate speech the groups espouse on social media?

*Ryan Lenz, online editor and senior writer at the Southern Poverty Law Center, said the number of black separatist groups nearly doubled in 2015, mirroring a similar increase among white hate groups that has taken place as police killings make frequent headlines.

After Dallas, Time to Accept the Reality of Race

*It was not easy when I took it. (It had not yet been dumbed down in 1969)  written examinations for Civil Service jobs. In fact, my friend and boss @OICC in Saigon, Bob Goodpasteur passed, got out, reapplied, flunked and the next time passed.  Now we have some imbeciles in the federal government because they aren't required to do anything.

******************************

Ending first.

My suggestion: Let’s flip the state ideology right round, into a configuration we have never tried before. Let’s dump the idea that there’s some way to get all races showing identical outcomes—and then also dump the idea that laws and rules have to be twisted to favor one race over another.

Let’s make our legislators and jurists and administrators treat all citizens equally. Bring back competitive *written examinations for Civil Service jobs. Let’s have meritocratic promotions in our agencies and corporations. Forbid public colleges accepting students by any other than academic criteria.

Let’s start treating people equally—a thing we have never done before.

And let’s accept unequal group outcomes as a natural feature of the world, which they surely are.
Then we can stop blaming them on ourselves, or on invisible swirling magic vapors of “racism” or “privilege.”

If we flipped the ideology once, why couldn’t we flip it again?

Would it help? It might.

New Black Panther Leader: Blacks Need to Migrate to Five Southern States, Form ‘Country Within a Country’

“We just need to start migrating back to those states and taking control of the economics in those states.
Idiots.  They must not realize they are only 13% of the population.:)

Babu Omowale, the so-called national minister of defense for the People’s New Black Panther Party, says his group and allied organizations have their sights set on establishing “our own government in a nation within a nation.”

Omowale was speaking in an interview set to air Sunday night on this reporter’s talk radio program, “Aaron Klein Investigative Radio,” broadcast on New York’s AM 970 The Answer and News Talk 990 AM in Philadelphia.

Omowale used the interview to claim five states as belonging to the “Black Nation”: Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Alabama, and Georgia.

Paul Ryan Plummets to 43 Percent in New Primary Poll

Please, please, please go home.

A poll of likely Republican voters shows House Speaker Paul Ryan well below 50 percent in his race to maintain his seat in Wisconsin’s first Congressional district.

The poll was conducted by P.M.I., with 424 respondents randomly called from a file of 11,000 likely GOP primary voters. It shows that with one month remaining before Wisconsin’s August 9th vote, Ryan is polling at 43 percent.

Ryan’s challenger, Wisconsin businessman Paul Nehlen, is polling at 32 percent.

The Nehlen campaign notes that Ryan’s 43 percent “represents a drop of more than 30 points since the Nehlen campaign began polling likely Republican primary voters earlier in the year.”
