Police have arrested a fifth person after an investigation into a robbery earlier this week of several college students living in a Northwest side home.

James Edward Hodges Jr., 19, surrendered to Grand Rapids police at 3 p.m. today, authorities said.

Hodges is expected to be formally arraigned on Monday.

Dorian Jones, 20; Rederick Melton, 20; and Brandon Towns, 25, were arraigned today in Grand Rapids District Court and charged with eight counts each—three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, four counts of unarmed robbery and one count of entering a dwelling without permission.

Police say the men broke into a home at 646 Veto St. NW at about 4 a.m. Monday, not long after a party at the residence ended.

Some of the students were pistol-whipped and tied up while a woman inside was raped, authorities say.
