Loved those old pictures. I remember the old steam engines. My Grandmother lived by the tracks and a roundhouse. When they passed her house they would let out great puffs of smoke and black ashes and if she had her wash hanging out and the wind was right the wash would get ruined and had to be rewashed. She'd run out and shake her fist at them but the engine crew would just laugh and.....wait, am I that old?

:) How fondly I remember taking the train from Virginia to Florida with linen and sterling silver on the tables. Impeccable service. We took it from CA to VA in 2002 and it was an absolute disaster, of course what should I have expected since the government runs it.........?
Excellent photos.
ReplyDeleteI tell you, it's hard to beat the color in film.
