Suck it up FSA

February 1939. "Packinghouse workers in migrant labor camp near Canal Point, Florida. Some of them are from Missouri and Arkansas. *No water, no light, no sanitary facilities."

  1. Canal Point is on the east shore of Lake Okeechobee on 441 about the middle, just north of Pahokee. We were over that way about 20 mi north for a hamfest earlier today. Old Florida. Beautiful country. Once we left the east coast sprawl there was nothing but cows and birds for 30 miles.

    1. Interesting. Just look at the two people in the photo, still proud and clean.

  2. Southerners.
I miss living in the country. We lived in the Redlands, southwest Miami Dade county, for a number of years. Lots of produce farming and groves. Three miled west of Homestead. It has been overtaken by urban sprawl now.

  3. Yes, but even worse, a city full of Yankees. I didn't know just how many there were when we moved here.

    1. I certainly would want to be in a small town if things get bad.
