I was in Budapest in the eighties, and off of any of the main streets, you could still, at that late date, find bullet holes in the buildings from that conflict. I am so glad that the Hungarians have finally found a way to throw off totalitarianism, and are now enjoying the fruits of freedom.
Interesting and agreed. Sometimes you will still see in Vietnam trucks running around with the remnants of U.S. Army on them. Also VNCH flags that had been painted on individual houses become visible after many years of being painted over and there are bullet riddled buildings also.
