An off-duty Chicago police officer fatally shot a burglar in the Old Town neighborhood late Saturday night, police said.
The officer said he observed a
burglary-in-progress around 11:40 p.m. in a vacant second-floor
apartment in the 1900 block of North Lincoln Avenue, officials said.
The officer told the man he was a
police officer and ordered the offender to come down, according to a
statement from the Chicago Police Department.
The offender allegedly approached the
officer with his hand in his waistband and refused to show his hands
despite prompts from the officer and allegedly threatened the officer’s
life, the statement said.
The man then produced a "shiny object" from his waistband and ran towards the officer, officials said.
Wonder if he will get fired.. After all he killed one of Rombo's criminals in the windy city.

DeleteSo, what was the "shiny object"? They forgot to mention that.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm sure it was just an oversight on their part and will be corrected as soon as they are forced to reveal the truth after being sued.
