“No matter how we reform health care, we will keep this promise to the American people: If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor. Period. If you like your health-care plan, you will be able to keep your health-care plan. Period. No one will take it away. No matter what.”
Because of recent developments contrary to the promises in this quote, whoever said those words, it can be said of him that he was either wrong or lying; one or the other and nothing else.
Those developments are approximately, and only thus far, 1.5 million people having been dropped from their private health-insurance plans: 800,000 in New Jersey; 279,000 in California; 300,000 in Florida; 370,000 in Pennsylvania; 76,000 from D.C., Virginia, and Maryland; and these numbers are only rising.
