  1. I remember back in 65, there was SCCA road race at Candlestick Park in Kali. The Cobra team was there, with lead driver, Phil Hill. They were the 427ci models and they thundered!

    Jim Hall was also there with his Chaparral. 327ci engine and auto tranny. Of course, no help at all from Chevy engineers! (LOL!) He smoked all of the competition.

    1. I was always into drag racing, so didn't follow the others. The fastest thing I ever rode in was a 289 Cobra though. As I remember the 289 went 0 to 60 in 4.2 and the 427 in 4.0. Not much difference.
