Angry veterans protested President Obama’s visit to Delaware to show their disdain for how the administration has treated them.
The 25 protesters — led by Martin Nicholson, a veteran Marine – lined the street and turned their backs to the president’s passing motorcade.
“We feel he’s turned his back
on us veterans, so we’re going to turn our backs on him as he drives by
on his motorcade to show our appreciation that he does not care about
us veterans,” Nicholson told BuzzPo.com.
Obama was in Delaware to
discuss a recently damaged bridge, a topic the protesters call a waste
of Obama’s time when much bigger issues demand his attention, including
the Veterans Affairs scandal and the invasion of illegal immigrants.

I will take their word for it, but I watched it twice and could see no one who turned their back - I saw the man in the wheelchair turn his flag upside down - should have gotten a good shot of the backs turning for the optics not just the sentiment.
ReplyDeleteClick on the BuzzPo link as it gives a better idea, I think.
DeleteIn the video below, Nicholson can be heard giving the commands to approximately 25 our veterans to turn their backs, and again when to face forward after the motorcade had passed. The video stays focused primarily on the passing motorcade, but the vets back were turned from approximately :35 seconds to 1:08 seconds into the video.
Oh, I have no doubt in my mind that their backs were turned - in the future, someone should actually show the Vets turning their backs - get the shot of their backs so no one can be id'd easily. I am sure there will plenty of opportunities at future PINO fundraisers across the former USA.

DeleteI agree that we would have liked to have seen more backs and less cars.:)
