The Drug Enforcement Administration and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives collaborated on plans to monitor gun show attendees using automatic license plate readers, according to a newly disclosed DEA email obtained by the ACLU through the Freedom of Information Act.

DeleteWere planning to. They cancelled these plans. Probably when they found out that 10% of the cars parked there in the pilot test belonged to law enforcement. The local gun shows in my area normally have 3-5 state police, 2 county, and 2-3 locals present in uniform, with their cars parked right in front (in the no parking zones of course).
