I think there was quite a bit of wishful thinking in there on the part of some heavier girls though. Fashion set a lot of those body types along with paid patronage pre-1900's Some of the most knowledgeable Women I know who actually studied Women's wear from various periods have documented that there were actually styles that fit whatever attribute said Female wished to accent. What we see in many cases was just the art that became famous more than anything.
Personally I usually like more to the waif type look since the 70's :)
The golden age of Hollywood 1930-50's. That does NOT come even remotely close to Norma Jean or her fellow travelers. Was this put together by Amanda Marcotte or Ms McCain?
