Prospective M16A4 upgrades.

While the Marine Corps has no intention of procuring new rifles or pistols in the near future, the service's top marksmanship experts will study a number of potential upgrades this year that would give current M16A4 rifles and M4 carbines a makeover with significant improvements to accuracy.

  1. Utilize a SOCOM 16" barrel with a blast forward compensator for starters. I'm sure there's a company out there that'll clone a LaRue rail for the Corps at a resenable price compared to KAC. For reliability, H3 buffer, enhanced buffer spring, extractor, extractor spring and o ring. Do away with 3 round burst: with solid trigger work/fundamentals, 3rd burst is obsolete. So yes, a good single stage would do nicely. Adjustable length of pull would be nice too...
    Or...just issue MK12s shortened down.
