County nixes Confederate Memorial holiday

"Shame on the elected officials Cullman County who felt it necessary to bend down and kiss the big toe of  'political correctness'. I hope it tasted good to them because I feel a backlash is coming from their constituents that will be quite bitter.

I would say this is par for the course. Maybe they can escape to the controversial 1.3 million dollar dilapidated lake home recently purchased by the Cullman County Board of Education. I'm sure someones palm got greased in that deal."

 Confederate Memorial Day

It is sad that our veterans and those who fought for Alabama no longer mean anything to the officials in Cullman County.

Cullman County will no longer recognize Confederate Memorial Day as a state holiday and will close offices for Good Friday instead.

On Tuesday, the Cullman County Commission approved a resolution to do away with Confederate Memorial Day which is April 27. The courthouse and county offices will be closed for Good Friday, April 3 instead.

  1. Shame on the elected officials of Cullman County who felt it necessary to bend down and kiss the big toe of "political correctness". I hope it tasted good to them because I feel a backlash is coming from their constituents that will be quite bitter. I wonder what your ancestors would think of you.

I should not be surprised. I guess this is par for the course. Maybe the guilty parties involved can escape to the controversial 1.2 million dollar dilapidated lake home recently purchased by the Cullman County Board of Education. One has but one chance to be honorable. It looks as if some have blown it.
