  1. The M249 is a brilliant little bit of engineering. It is a terrible waste to make them in semi-automatic. A perversion of all that is Holy and good.

    1. Like getting a 1911 chambered in 22LR.

    2. I don't know why they are making some reproductions in .22. Worthless. If I want to shoot a .22, I'll take my daughter's Marlin or Walther.

  2. "There is no way to convert this to fully automatic"

Hahaha. He don't know us very well, do he?

  3. M249 semi......suck. I jumped one of those pigs 11-15 times. If you get no auto operation your better off with a bipod on any other rifle of your choosing. They look cool....... $6k? I don't have a car worth that much.

  4. He said at the end of the video $6k range for the 249. If I'm mistaken sorry;)

    1. I missed it, sorry, but won't have to even think about it anymore. :) $6K = 6 Colt LE's. :) Or, etcetera, etcetera......:)

    2. 1 scar17s is Much more useful than a semiauto m24shity9. Unless they are much improved in the last 20yrs, you have to use point of impact or tracers to hit.

    3. As you stated, you can buy two for the price of one. You could outfit 15 men with 9-30's and 440 rounds of ammo including delivery for the $6K.

    4. 9-30s? Lost me, but gun snobbery is deffinetly a poor strategy under current circumstances. Proven, reliable, accurate, cost effective firearms rule my toybox. A Shotgun, a rifle, and a 4wheeldrive.......

    5. I see I screwed that up. :) S/B 91-30 Mosin Nagant.

  5. The Army gave me one of those in '86. It was supposed to be full automatic, but ran like a semi-auto. It 'accidentally' got wrapped around a tree and they gave me a brand new Maremont M60 to replace it.

The serial # on the SAW was 6xx.

I guess there were some refinements made over the years, but like the Vietnam Vets who saw buddies die because the M16 failed them, I would never trust one.
