Ben Carson on Gun Control

Via Sister Anne

As Democrats renew a push for gun control after the recent school shooting in Oregon, Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson argues in his new book that an armed citizenry is needed to protect the people against “tyrants” and “radicals.”

“Only law-abiding citizens are affected by legislation imposing gun control,” Carson writes in the book. “The criminals don’t care what the law says, which is why they are criminals. Confiscating the guns of American citizens would violate the Constitution as well as rendering the citizenry vulnerable to criminals and tyrants.”

    1. Yes, I am aware of this and hopefully he's had a true change of heart.

    1. Yup. I was coming back from my military school reunion in October 2008 passing through Virginia and heard Jim Webb on the radio saying Obama wouldn't take away our guns or something similar

I had such hopes for him, a Vietnam veteran and a defender of Confederates.

    1. No one should be forced to do anything, period. As far as vaccinations and me personally, it's a non-issue, as I have had so many going back and forth to Vietnam 12 times, that the last time I went in 2005, the nurse, having reviewed my shot card, said I didn't need anymore as she was sure I was fully protected. :)
