North Carolina authorities say a woman shot and killed a man who had broken into her home.
The Fayetteville Observer reports (http://bit.ly/1ZZ9M1m) the shooting occurred Friday morning at a home in Robeson County.
Maj. Anthony Thompson is a spokesman for the Robeson County Sheriff's Office. He said the woman had left home to run an errand, and when she returned, she saw an unfamiliar Jeep parked in her driveway.

In my book protection of property is justifiable. Especially if you broke in. Hopefully based on this story from WRAL she won't be charged. We stand our ground and that's that.
ReplyDeleteYes and anyone breaking into your house has no good intentions and you'd better not wait to find out if among those are murder.
DeleteOf course this criminal threatened her life, right? Right? She was right to fear a strange man in her house and justified in shooting him. Not a case of protecting property.....that's how I see it.
ReplyDeleteNC law changed a few years ago negating the part that required you to retreat as far as you could before shooting, so she's scot-free.
