Any of those ladies could have easily been my grandmother, great aunts, etc. The speech patterns, beliefs, childhood stories are the same as I heard from my female forebearers and kin. Speaking of Scots-Irish ancestry, have your ever read Grady McWhiney's "Cracker Culture: Celtic Ways In The Old South"? It is worth a read. Thanks again for posting. I watched it all.
