Republicans added to their historic 2014 gains in the nation’s state legislatures with the addition of five state House chambers and two state Senate chambers in last week’s election, while Democratic control was reduced to levels not seen since the Civil War.
Republicans are now in control of a record 67 (68 percent) of the 98 partisan state legislative chambers in the nation, more than twice the number (31) in which Democrats have a majority, according to the bipartisan National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL).

It is much deeper. Democrats have lost counties and cities across the country. Other than hard left democrat areas their ideas are being opposed. Regular people including democrats are tired. They are done with victim politics. They are done with perversion become a "right." They are tired of political correctness. They are tired of being preached at by Marxists. If they continue doubling down they will become a footnote party, like the Wigs.

Double down away! :)
DeleteUnfortunately I live in one of the 4 states that stayed liberal, much to my disgust. We did elect a Republican secretary of state, though. A small consolation.
ReplyDeleteAlways look for the silver lining.
DeleteIn Oregon, the Secretary if State becomes governor in the event the sitting governor steps down, like what happened a couple of years ago. With our new Republican Secy of State, one can only hope.
DeleteKeep your fingers crossed, Ma'am. :)
DeleteThe Republicans owning the political arenas only makes it more important for them to produce MEANINGFUL legislation that actually helps their consituents. You can bet that the media is chomping at the bit to make the Republicans look ineffective as possible and will shout from rooftops of this occurring. Two years before next election cycle - it goes by fast.
ReplyDeleteRepublicans - time to $hit or get off the pot. No excuses any more.
Agreed and they have a marvelous opportunity.
