United Nations diplomats should worry about the "wave of populism" sweeping across the world, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley warned Wednesday.
"The U.N. is missing the growing discontent and growing distrust among the people it's supposed to represent," Haley said at the Council on Foreign Relations. "The fact is, a wave is building throughout the world. It's a wave of populism that is challenging institutions like the United Nations and shaking them to their foundations."

The UN isn't supposed to represent any people. It represents national governments, most of which are dictatorships. It certainly doesn't "represent" American people. Our constitution doesn't mention anything about granting representative authority to governments outside of the federal and state governments.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely.
DeleteShe makes it sound as though populism were a bad thing.
ReplyDeleteOf course, this is probably exactly what someone in Big Government Incorporated would think.
I think Trump misfired with this appointment.
And - I hereby apologize in advance to any who were micro-agressed by my use of the white, male, aggressive-sounding trigger word "misfired".
Oops, now I have to apologize for using the word "triggered" in my first apology about the word "misfired".
Great. Now I've just done two micro-agressions in one sentence.
There's really no way I can win this, is there ?
And to think that many on the left won't see the absurdity of all of this.

I think Trump misfired with this appointment.
DeleteHe did it to payback the Lt. Gov. who had supported him early on and your 'micro-agressions' need to stop! :)
