Amid complaints that his aides are saying different things about Syria (For days) and his policy is confusing, President Trump emphatically cleared the air.

“We’re not going into Syria,” he told me yesterday in an exclusive interview. “Our policy is the same — it hasn’t changed. We’re not going into Syria.”

The president, speaking by phone Tuesday, called Syrian President Bashar al-Assad a “butcher” and a “barbarian” for using sarin gas on his own people, but said last week’s successful missile strike was not the start of a campaign to oust the dictator.


  1. I'm glad we're not going to overthrow Assad, but I expect Assad is innocent of using such weapons.

    In a war against ISIS, bad things I'm sure had to be done. But I doubt Assad is any worse than Americans have been in our wars.

    1. It truly didn't pass the smell test this time.
