Overpopulation Hoax: The greatest threat to mankind's prosperity is government, not population growth.

Via Billy

In 1798, Thomas Malthus wrote "An Essay on the Principle of Population." He predicted that mankind's birthrate would outstrip our ability to grow food and would lead to mass starvation.

Malthus' wrong predictions did not deter Stanford University professor Paul Ehrlich from making a similar prediction. In his 1968 best-seller, "The Population Bomb," which has sold more than 2 million copies, Ehrlich warned: "The battle to feed all of humanity is over. In the 1970s and 1980s hundreds of millions of people will starve to death in spite of any crash programs embarked upon now." This hoax resulted in billions of dollars being spent to fight overpopulation.

    1. Overpopulation harms heritage and natural diversity. So, it's bad from a traditionalist's perspective.

Libertarians seem to want to live in hyper cities devoid of tradition and meaning. I'm just not that type of person. For me, meaning and tradition are everything.

That's kinda why I see libertarians as Yankees. I never will understand the Southron movement. The values are right. The political ideas don't match them.

    2. My apologies for overreacting.

What's likely is a misunderstanding of meanings.

While I'm concerned about overpopulation, I don't wish to actively reduce global populations. But I do see overpopulation as a greater problem than government size.

If I could find an old Chronicles book (pre-Dr. Fleming) I'd cite a passage from there on how population density might have naturally changed society in the US, reducing the sort of freedom that was then possible.

It hadn't seemed valuable to me, bc I was never obsessed with freedom. But I think maybe it'd be a potent book theme for some Southrons, maybe yourself included.

Chronicles stopped selling the book, and I've misplaced the thing. I've read so many dang books and articles, but I can't ever find them for reference.

Anyway, here's a recent article on how millennials want socialism: http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-05-31/globalists-are-building-army-millennials-destroy-sovereignty

It's interesting in reply to your earlier feminine-man article.

And if you're wondering what in the world values I hold, I seem to think in the same category as Richert from Chronicles and James Kalb. But I'm not Catholic. If they didn't exist, I'd probably have gone insane due to how different my thinking seems to be from others of my ethnicity. I stared into the abyss and desired to murder it!

  2. Neo-Malthusians were resurrected with Rachael Carsons book, Silent Spring. I have no fear of overpopulation. I am not a city slicker so if it gets too crowded where I live I just move to a less crowded area. Now government...no matter where I live I have to deal with government dicks, and government has killed more millions than overpopulation. Where they blame overpopulation for mass famine is more likely a problem of government interfering in the economy to create starvation. The globalists want fewer than 1 billion for a world population...that means they want a lot of us to become compost to satisfy their needs. Little wonder than more and more people view them as rather "sick" world citizens. indyjonesouthere
