Radio Direction Finding and transmitter location, as an amateur radio exercise, is called “Fox Hunting”.  For several decades this exercise has been a weekend’s entertainment for young and old alike.  In this demonstration, a miniature transmitter will be used as a weak source of a 443 Mhz beacon signal, and two types of small hand-held directional antennas will be used to show how to locate it’s position.   Details on constructing your own directional antennas and where this particular transmitter can be purchased will be provided.  A practical application for where you would deploy the small transmitter for others to locate is left to you.
