California Universal Healthcare Bill Taken Off Life Support

Single-payer healthcare is not going to happen in California - at least this year. Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon is holding the bill in the Rules Committee until further notice, saying the bill was "woefully inadequate."

SB 562 passed the Senate a few weeks back, just after the cost estimate of $400 billion a year (more than double the state budget!) was released and considerably dimmed the measure's popularity. (& they still won't give it up!) At the time Dems said they'd get all of those little details worked out in committee then bring the bill back to the Senate, but Rendon's decision stopped that for now.

  1. The flaw with the notion of "Healthcare is a Human Right" is that some one has to pay for it. Medical items come at a cost. Those who provide Healthcare still expect to be paid for their services. They like every one else still have their own bills that have to be paid. So the question still remains, who is going to pay for this "right". The expectation is this is going to be paid for by that other guy, who will be expected to have his taxes raised WITHOUT his consent in the matter. In a word, stealing.
I have a challenge for all those who think a single-payer healthcare system is a great idea; Show me where it is working out as promised? I am unaware of said system that does not have issues with very long wait times to be seen/treated. Or where they can brag about the quality of care they are getting under their single-payer plan. Let me use this analogy; It would be like being promised a free car, but you would have to wait ten years in order to get it, then it would be the make and model the government stated you could have. Once again, the Dems are trying to buy votes by promising free stuff to be paid for with some one else's money.

  2. "Healthcare is a Human Right" reads one of the signs. I agree. It would be included in the non-enumerated rights in the 9th Amendment. But a right belongs to each individual person and is something you are free to exercise by and for yourself. It is not something that the government provides, but only protects from violation. Free speech is a right, but the government has no duty or power to provide a platform for anyone. The tight to keep and bear (carry) arms is a right, but no one suggests that the government should provide a standard military rifle. So go ahead, you're free to exercise your own healthcare and with the current law, your healthcare right is actually being violated by the government mandating that you purchase healthcare insurance and of their choosing to boot! --Ron W

  3. Check the school of interest for accreditation, tuition costs and length of programming. In some cases, a number of alternative medicine schools do provide natural health programs both days and evenings; and may even offer home-study courses and continuing education classes. dairy queen diabetic ice cream
