It would be easier to legally carry concealed handguns under a gun-rights bill that began moving in the state House on Wednesday.
Concealed-carry permits would no longer be needed if the legislature passes House Bill 746. It’s already legal to wear a visible handgun, except where restricted. Concealed handguns would be treated similarly under the bill.

No test or fee of any sort should be required to practice a God-given right.
ReplyDeleteA novel thought. :)
DeleteI don't mind a test if it's not overly expensive (and thus prevents most from taking it).
DeleteSwitzerland has symbolic mandatory military training, gives people guns. Or they used to. I don't keep up. Anyway, their system seems to work.
The key issue is people need reasonable access to guns.
Likewise, voter ID seems fine to me. A small hurdle isn't necessarily a bad thing.
I agree Bill. Reckon how much money any of the hundreds of felons across this land who are arrested each day have spent on a "legally obtained firearm", certified pistol training courses, or pistol permits?

DeleteSwitzerland is an all-white country where everyone is the same nationality. Diversity leads to war. Countries with high diversity always limit access to firearms so as to create an advantage for one side or the other if such a war eventually happens. Keeping one side disarmed helps make sure they don't start it.
DeleteThanks and just looked it up.
DeleteGerman 65%, French 18%, Italian 10%, Romansch 1%, other 6%

ReplyDeletevoter ID seems fine to me.
DeleteAsinine that everyplace doesn't have this.
I was talking with a Democrat online about it a few weeks ago. He claimed national ID would be fair to require. He then quoted a guy from Heritage, Weyrich I think, saying that voter ID helps shift things towards Republicans.
DeleteIt seems simple enough to me though. You just go out to the DMV. He couldn't explain why nonwhites struggle to obtain ID, only claimed that they do.
Another Democrat linked showing how most on welfare now are white. I didn't check the percentages to see if it was due to whites being a higher percent of the population or what. Regardless, I don't like the idea of the federal government paying rural Appalachians to sit on their rears when jobs exist in other parts of the US. Where I live, Dominos can't find drivers. I expect it's a minimum wage job, but it's something.

DeleteAbsolutely.
