After 9 years in The Marines I joined the Army. Not impressed with 90% of Army HAWKer types. After awhile I gravitated to an old Sgt from The Nam era, he and I talked about this : After the first salvo of HAWK missiles were away, the following officers and senior staff idiots would be shot and fragged, him and I were to navigate the forests of Bavaria pickin' off commies for mommy til SPETZNAZ eventually get us. To quote some Klingon : It would have been Glorious.
Back during the Desert Storm era there were troops going through Atterbury that had not even qualified on their m-16's. I'm not sure what they teach in Basic but it isn't much that is "basic" it seems. The 18th Abn Corps doesn't have all airborne troops, it is a headquarter Corps more likely to be manned by lawyers than 11 B's. indyjonesouthere
