Right Angle - Alejandro Villanueva: Hero To Heartbreak

2 comments:

  1. Villanueva having served in the Army has zero excuse for not knowing what the Army's core values are. One of them is moral courage; to do the right thing in the face of a difficult situation. He sold his soul, manhood and integrity for his proverbial 30 pieces of silver. He went from being a hero to a coward (no, not heartbreak). Nobody respects a coward. What he ought to have said at his press conference was that he still stood by his decision to stand when others took the knee. Doing the right thing was of greater importance that money or the approval of his peers. If standing means the end of his career as a pro football player, well then, so be it. In trying to save his ass, he lost his soul.
His career is done for. Just because he groveled on TV, apologizing does NOT mean he has been forgiven by the football players who have bent the knee and their supports. I suspect that in the near future he WILL sustain a career ending injury. "Accidents" do happen in practice and in the game, where the un-sportsman like conduct just happened while the umpire never saw it. Just a matter of how soon, some body will teach him a lesson. Lefties do have a long memory and they do not forgive. The smart move would have been for him to have resigned and walked away. He would have been a real hero and positive example had he said that there are some thing in life more important than fame, career or money. Maintaining your integrity and not compromising your moral is one of them. And as a veteran is a matter of duty, honor and country.
Alejandro, as an Army vet, I hold you in contempt. You're a pussy.
