Give VA Secretary David Shulkin the Boot

Give VA Secretary David Shulkin the Boot

While the Department of Veterans Affairs secretary lives high on the hog and his lying chief of staff resigns in disgrace while escaping any punishment, legions of vets every day in this country are denied the medical care they earned.

President Trump was supposed to drain the swamp. But at the historically fraud-ridden and profligate VA, the alligators continue feasting on the public dime.

Trump's VA secretary, David Shulkin, is an Obama holdover. His main agenda is to block any real reforms for veterans, which includes expanding their ability to obtain care from private doctors and hospitals. His daughter, Jennifer, is a Harvard law student and loudmouth Huffington Post contributor who used her Twitter account recently to defend her dad against "right-winged, pro-privatization Trump appointees."

  1. Eliminate it as a cabinet.

    Put it back under DoD...

...and start firing people...by the hundreds.

  2. Shulkin should have been long gone. The VA can't seem to
get a break. Trump's campaign promise for the Vet's was
for them to go to doctors/hospitals of their choice.
Here is some possible signs of good well. I like Rick Perry and should
it work out, he can push the politics/business agendas aside:

    1. Interesting that you should post this today as I was just mentioning to my neighbor that Trump's election has definitely helped veterans. Just two weeks ago I called for an appointment and the responder stated that the doctor had made one in April but when I said that it was overdue she immediately asked if I would like to go to a local doctor.

  3. That's good to hear. The Vet's deserve to be treated like
human beings/compassion instead of being treated like a
    problem. How soon we forget.
Are you going to the local doctor?

    1. No, but they said they could either cut it out with a 96% chance or 'scrape' with 94% and they would recommend the latter which they did. I go back in 6 months to have it checked. That was the second skin cancer and for the first one I didn't even go back as they sent me a creme which got rid of it. Amazing the advances in science.Thanks.

    1. :) Yes and just consider, I had cancer of the left true vocal cord in '74 while in Vietnam. I received radiation at the Makati Medical Center in the PI before I returned to Saigon. After 10 years I was told it would never come back but it did in '95 at which time I had removal surgery but I'm still alive and kicking after 44 years!

    2. Yes, I remember your story. You've had some tuff
times but still you over-came and I admire your
resilience. Still you laugh and have a good time.
I would like to think I could be soooo strong.
Some would die of depression. Love having you here.
