This past spring, we saw multiple faith-based movies hit the big screen with SAMSON, PAUL, APOSTLE OF CHRIST, GOD’S NOT DEAD: A LIGHT IN DARKNESS, and of course, the Christian independent success I CAN ONLY IMAGINE which grossed $83 million in the domestic box office. This fall could see even more faith-oriented movies!

That not the correct pattern for the Vietnam Service Medal. There are other problems. The top row is possible; Purple Heart Medal, Air Medal, China Service Medal. The bottom row is incorrect; Philippine Liberation Medal (but it is upside down), possible Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal but it has multiple devices which is not possible, and a unknown as the color combination is not in the charts for the past 75 years. The lapel device is for Army Aviation. And the wings above the ribbons is the Air Observer.
ReplyDeleteMy wife hates that I point out the incorrect ribbon racks in the movies. I retired with 21 years in the AF. After a year of training I spent the next 12 years in Joint Services where we had an over-zealous PR officers who made sure that any successful mission or training exercise would result in a ribbon, device, or medal. I ended up with 11 rows of ribbons on my dress uniform and they are were all for just doing my job, nothing special.

That's a shame as it detracts from those real warriors. Reminds me of the Vietnam Service Medal: I have 8 stars and mainly because I was in-country during Tet '68 sitting at a desk.
