Why Was Stone Arrested Instead of Being Asked to Surrender?

Via Rody
"You don't really care about Mr. Manafort's bank fraud -- what you really care about is what information Mr. Manafort could give you that would reflect on Mr. Trump or lead to his prosecution or impeachment."

If there was no legitimate reason for the arrest and handcuffing of this presumed innocent defendant, what was the illegitimate reason? The illegitimate purpose of the arrest was to intimidate the potential witness -- namely Stone -- into not invoking his constitutional right to remain silent, rather than to testify as a government witness.

As Judge T.S. Ellis, III, who presided over the Manafort trial observed: "You don't really care about Mr. Manafort's bank fraud – what you really care about is what information Mr. Manafort could give you that would reflect on Mr. Trump or lead to his prosecution or impeachment."

The ACLU has been absolutely silent in regard to the questionable tactics employed by Mueller. They, too, would have been up in arms had these tactics been employed against their favorite candidate and mine, Hillary Clinton. Their silence speaks volumes about their partisanship and lack of neutral standards of civil liberties.

Congress must act to prevent these abuses from recurring.

  2. America is doomed. The successful university socialist programming of the country's youth over decades has sealed our fate and has created a population of Liberal drones. There's no sense in us old constitution defenders thinking we can return the country to the 1950s. It's time to just fade away and allow nature to take its course.

  3. Why arrested instead of being asked?
The same reason the Waco raid was performed in the 1990's: epic grandiose show of force, to leave an impression on the public and MAGA people, a religious type ceremony of "justice and judgement".
    Perception management.
    Get yer mind right, Luke.

congress needs to abrogate the Patriot Act. all the bad actors in this comedy use it to legalize their doings. get that done and most of the shenanigans will come to a halt. the constitutionality of the Patriot Act has never been questioned of the US supreme court. we are either under martial law or we are not.

  6. Trump signed the Patriot Act which I did not think he would do.
So what does that make him? Certainly not 'Make America Great
Again'. This Act is anti America and all it stands. Boy, they
sure did zero in on our freedoms after 9/11. hmmmmm
