Alan Dershowitz: Are we ready for a wave of violence after the election?

We must prepare now for the possibility of violence following the election this fall. If it turns out to be a close or contested election, extremists from both sides may likely use it as an excuse to riot and attack. This will not be a repeat of the 2000 election, when the disputes were ultimately resolved by the Supreme Court in a controversial decision along partisan lines. The loser accepted it and told his followers to do the same.

But in this election, the candidates are not George Bush and Al Gore, and the country is not what it was 20 years ago. This is a very different and far more dangerous time. We are a much more divided nation. Violence is in the air in many of our cities and has received a degree of legitimacy from people on both sides who should know better. We are not prepared for a possibility of dangerous reactions to an election that may seem unfair to people on one side or the other based on the outcome.

  1. No need to get ready. It will be the same people burning and looting the same places they have been burning and looting for 6 months. There is a limit to how many ground troops the Democrats can deploy on the streets and we have already seen their capacity to do this.

Everyone outside Democratic party bastions will be just fine. People inside those areas deserve what they get.

A bit of history: In Iraq, Isis and ALQuada both stopped being effective when the Shiite majorities in their areas stopped putting up with their shit. Democrats in the cities haven't reached that level of pain yet.

  2. "Extremists from both sides". HAHAHAHAH. There are no Extremists on the right. Conservatives are by definition law abiding and NOT extreme. Extreme is the opposite of the word conservative.

  3. The Left now has a searchable, on-line database of Trump supporters to use in targeting people.

Remove the * for the link to work.

Write to people on the list nearby you. And spread the word about this - I suspect, and hope, that even moderate Biden supporters will look at this and be horrified.

    1. Thanks. https://freenorthcarolina.blogspot.com/2020/10/donald-trump-watch-left-now-has.html

Before I wasn't sure of Trump winning but today after reading multiple sources I believe he will. There are state races where although the dems were ahead sometime ago they have lost significant advantage and seems they will go Republican.https://freenorthcarolina.blogspot.com/2020/10/donald-trump-watch-left-now-has.html#comment-form

  5. Interesting concept, but the rule of law doesn't work unless it's followed by both sides and that isn't what I'm seeing.
