14 cadets disciplined at Citadel; some wore KKK-like garb

Fourteen cadets have been dismissed, suspended or are receiving on-campus punishments at The Citadel after several of them appeared in photos with pillowcases on their heads similar to Ku Klux Klan garb, the military college’s president said Monday.

The photos of seven freshmen cadets dressed in white pants and shirts while wearing pillowcases surfaced on social media last month. An investigation found the cadets were ordered by upperclassmen to sing Christmas carols dressed in costumes, college president John Rosa, a retired lieutenant general, said in a statement. The photos involved a “Ghosts of Christmas Past” skit.

15 Year-Old Migrant Stabs Swedish Refugee Center Worker to Death

A young asylum seeker on Monday allegedly stabbed to death an employee at a refugee centre in Sweden as police demanded more resources to stem rising violence linked to the migrant crisis.

He did not give details about the suspect’s age or nationality but said he had been arrested for murder. Swedish news agency TT said he was 15 years old.

The victim was a 22-year-old woman, and the motive was not immediately clear.

“These kinds of calls are becoming more and more common. We’re dealing with more incidents like these since the arrival of so many more refugees from abroad,” said Fuxborg as Sweden struggles with a record influx of migrants and asylum seekers.

Prime Minister Stefan Lofven was to visit the area later on Monday.

Prague, Jan 24 (CTK) – The U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees’ (UNHCR) project putting school children in the role of refugees by means of comics and a film is idiotic and dangerous, President Milos Zeman said on Prima commercial television Saturday.

He praised Education Minister Katerina Valachova who said that her ministry will not distribute the material to schools.

“The comics are another idiotic project of the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees. I think that it is just as naive as Bolshevik propaganda that, though it did not have the form of comics, was essentially just as stupid,” Zeman said.

Conservative artist Sabo crashed the exhibition Friday night before Sanders was going to deliver a speech to the Socialist crowd.

SC barber, customers fire on, kill robbery suspect: ‘Kids were crying, hollering’

Elmurray “Billy” Bookman was cutting hair at his barber station, the second chair from the door, when two masked men, one wielding a pistol and the other carrying a shotgun, entered Next Up Barber & Beauty, he said.

Minutes later, Bookman and one of his customers drew their weapons as the robbers were taking money from customers and employees. They fired shots that left one of the suspects dead and sent another on the run just before 7 p.m. Friday.

“The kids were crying, hollering, and their parents were hollering,” Bookman said. “I think (the suspects) were getting kind of frustrated. They started putting their hands on some of the customers.”

In 2015, the state of Alabama and South Carolina both saw the Confederate flag come down. In New Orleans, Confederate monuments have been voted to be taken down by black controlled local governments. 

In 2016, the city of Baltimore has also seen a black controlled government decided to removed Confederate monuments.
