As it appears that the coup in Turkey has failed at that can only mean that Ergodan will become the unchallenged dictator of Turkey and its transformation into an unrestrained Islamic state will only move more quickly.  The fate of those officers and soldiers involved I have no doubt will share the fate of Hitler's SA on the night of the long knives.

The dangers Ergodan will now present are obvious. Turkey is already inside the military structures of NATO and possesses the second largest Army in NATO.  It is no particular secret that Ergodan's differences with ISIs are not religious or philosophical but purely political.  Ergodan is just as much a revanchist for the past power of the Ottoman Empire as Putin is for the lost Russian Empire. And they both blame the West for the loss.

The realities of past conflicts between the Ottoman and Russian Empires aside, Ergodan's desire for Turkey as an Islamic state is to restore it as the seat of the Califate and both ISIS and Basher Assad stand in the way of that goal.

TURKEY’S coup has been squashed and government reprisal promises to be merciless.

At least 2,800 military officers have been detained throughout Turkey, the state-run news agency Anadolu reports.

The latest death toll stands at 265, including 161 civilians and police. The rest are “coup plotters”, officials say.

A further 1154 were reported wounded in the bloody uprising.

According to one military official, more than 100 “coup plotters” have been killed.

“The coup attempt has been foiled,” acting army chief General Umit Dundar said.

Dundar said the coup attempt “was rejected by chain of command immediately” and 104 men responsible have since been killed.

In my previous post I asked at what point is the public going to demand that government take action against Islamic violence. Perhaps now we need to speculate as to what may have changed within the Public's conscience that will trigger these demands.

No one is questioning the moral revulsion that we all feel when events like just happened in Nice occur. Sad as such a state of affairs is, it's sadder still that we have developed almost a sense of numbness to these events. Just so long as they occurred every 6 or 8 months we could express our horror at the event but then within a few days or weeks the numbness sets in and we go back to our daily routines and the memories of these events fade from the forefont  our everyday lives.

Yes we do think that there but for the grace of God go I, but then the funerals are over the perpetrators are caught or killed, we breath a sigh of relief and push the thought that another such event can and will occur out of our minds.

We become almost thankful that we get that needed breathing space. The scenes of the horror in France, in Florida, in Germany and elsewhere are so awful, so stressful, so emotionally draining that we come to crave the opportunity to reset ourselves and resume some sort of normality it our daily lives.

But now that appears to have changed.

Therese Apel, a reporter for the Clarion Ledger, has done some fantastic reporting on the murder case of Jessica Lynn Chambers.   Therese has a video update –HERE– Jessica’s death was a shocking and horrific murder that impacted many CTH readers including myself.

Today the man accused of burning Jessica to death, Quinton “Go Hard” Tellis, appeared in a Mississippi courtroom to face the charges.

Erdogan has accusing his old nemesis, the cleric Fethullah Gulen who lives in Pennsylvania, of orchestrating  the coup, even though moments ago Gulen’s Alliance for Shared Values condemned the coup attempt. “We condemn any military intervention in domestic politics of Turkey,” Alliance for Shared Values, group backed by preacher Fethullah Gulen, says in statement on its website.

That doesn't matter to Erdogan however, who continues with the well-known narrative. As a result, many have suggested that this poorly planned coup was in fact created by Erdogan himself to bolster his popularity and his international political image, and so now armed with the sympathy vote he will actively push to conclude Turkey's conversion from a parliamentary regime to a presidential one. As such the coup was nothing more than a carefully staged prop, one which saw virtually nobody hurt, nobody arrested, and practically zero actual involvement by the "army."

It remains to be seen if this is true.

Just you wait. In the fullness of time, Donald J. Trump will be blamed for “creating the atmosphere” that led to the Texas cop massacre of July 7.

However, at least by the same standards applied to Mr. Trump, Barrack Hussein Obama should be fingered for encouraging Micah Xavier Johnson to “shoot a dozen Dallas police officers, killing five.”

Is it unreasonable to conclude that the not-so-subaudible dog-whistle emitted by Obama, a day prior, must have reached mass murderer Johnson and might have spurred his actions?

Issued from Poland, of all places, Obama had lamented the recent “police shooting deaths of two black men in Louisiana and Minnesota,” saying that these “should trouble all Americans,” as they “reflect deep-seated racial disparities in the U.S. criminal justice system.”

Conveniently, on July 9, Obama was quick to issue a different ruling: “We cannot let the actions of a few define all of us,” he declared, post Dallas. As his objective, Dallas shooter Micah Xavier Johnson stated “he wanted to kill white people, especially white officers.” Yet the disjunction promoted by this dreadful cur of a president has been that white-on-black criminal acts are indicative of root-and-branch racism; not the obverse.

Collective guilt for thee, but not for me.

Under the surface of almost every sociopolitical and economic event in the world there burns an ever-raging, but often unseen, war. This war, for now, is fought with fiction and with truth, with journalistic combat and with quiet individual deeds. It is defined by two sides which could not be more philosophically or spiritually separate.

On one side is a pervasive network of corporate moguls and elites, banking entities, international financial consortiums, think tanks and political puppets. They work tirelessly to reshape public psychology and society as a whole into something they sometimes call the “New World Order;” a completely and scientifically centralized planet in which they control every aspect of government, trade, life and even moral compass. I often refer to them simply as the “Globalists,” which is how they at times refer to themselves.

On the other side is a movement that has developed organically and instinctively, growing without direct top-down “leadership,” but still guided through example by various teachers and activists, driven by a concrete set of principles based in natural law. It is composed of the religious, the agnostic and even some atheists.  It is soldiered by people of all ethnic and financial backgrounds. These groups are tied together by a singular and resounding belief in the one vital thing they can all agree upon — the inherent and inborn rights of freedom. I call them the “Liberty Movement.”

Turkey coup & how Erdoğan inflamed tensions

An announcement on the Turkish state broadcaster TRT says that a curfew has been declared across Turkey and that airports are closed. The announcer says they are being made to read a statement by the military.

The statement promises a new constitution for the country and says that democracy and the secular rule of law had been undermined. Martial law has also been imposed, it adds.

News of an attempted military coup in Turkey, with soldiers manning strategic points in Ankara and Istanbul and sudden announcements in the media, is a throwback to more unstable times – but appears to reflect growing unease in a country disenchanted by the rule of an unpopular president.

In the immediate background are terrorist attacks blamed variously on Islamic State and the Kurdish PKK, escalating as the war in neighbouring Syria has dragged on into its sixth year. In early June, 11 people died and many more were badly injured when a car bomb exploded in central Istanbul. Two weeks later, a suicide bombing at Istanbul International airport killed 42 and left more than 200 wounded.

Information was sketchy but Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has alarmed many with his staunchly Islamist and increasingly authoritarian views, especially in the military, which has traditionally seen itself as a guardian of the country’s secular heritage, embodied by Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the modern republic. The president’s rhetoric has polarized the country and inflamed ethnic and sectarian tensions.
