Perry: People with permits should be able to carry guns anywhere in public including schools. @NBCDFW
Local news reporters in Texas are buzzing about Gov. Rick Perry’s appearance before a Tea Party group in the city North Richland Hills. Commenting on the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre in Newtown, Conn., the governor expressed his condolences, but would not budge on the issue of Second Amendment rights.
Not only is Perry not joining the sudden rush to ban guns, he’s doubling down and talking about the need for armed school staff to protect our children.
Perry also said localities should decide their own regulations regarding gun permits and schools.
Perry just clarified he supports "local control" for deciding whether permit holders can carry guns in schools. @NBCDFW

Austin Gun Store Owner Offers Teachers A Discount

An Austin-area gun store owner is joining the gun rights debate with a controversial offer for teachers in light of the tragic shooting in Connecticut.
Crocket Keller of Kellers Riverside Gun Store says if educators want to get a concealed handgun license, he’ll give them a discount.

“As we do with veterans, I would offer them a discount. Our normal rate is $110.00, so I would give them a rate of $90.00,” said Keller to KRLD. “If they are teachers, we would be more than happy to do that.”

  1. I still can't believe Rick Perry did so poorly in the presidential race. At least he is still in charge in Texas, and can keep that state going strong.
