  1. Speechless - how quickly they were forgotten.
The horror of it all is seen in their eyes. Lost many friends during those years and treasured the ones that returned.

    1. Horror indeed. Here are some more.

By noon on March 16, a mass of humanity; troops, dependents, civilians, and deserters; was clogging the old road. Some 400,000 civilians, 60,000 ARVN, and 7,000 Rangers began the attempted escape to the sea.29

By the time that the last straggling men, women, and children had reached Tuy Hoa on the coast; 300,000 civilians, 40,000 ARVN, and 6,300 Rangers were missing, never to be accounted for.

    2. I despise war and evil, but I am afraid we are going to see more and more of it. And it will be closer to home this time.
      A lot closer....

I most remember the kids and especially the kids in Catholic schools. They were shy but never lacked a huge smile and laughter, even with the war around them. They were neatly dressed in school uniforms and it was that experience that reminded me the most of home. The absolute shame of the US senate to cut off aid to them as they fought for their liberty still disgusts me to this day. And those actions were from the "greatest generation" leadership.

    1. Well said and how well I know. We received only $700K the last year in which to run the whole SV Air Force. The handwriting was on the wall and they knew very well that it was coming to an inglorious end.

  4. I hope Hanoi Jane and Horse-face are pleased with them selves. They should be forced to watch a 2 hour loop of these every night before they go to bed.
Unfortunately, they were not alone in their disgusting treasonous actions and all will be made to pay a fitting price someday. They all have the blood of countless 1000's on their heads.
Watching this slideshow, it's no small wonder that it isn't So. Vietnamese setting off bombs here.
