Virginia Beach 'Beach week' draws black crowd - and violence

 BeachWeek

The author sent me his book White Girl Bleed a Lot  for review and it is indeed well done.  Thomas Sowell mentioned as much

(Editor’s note: Colin Flaherty has done more reporting than any other journalist on what appears to be a nationwide trend of skyrocketing black-on-white crime, violence and abuse. WND features these reports to counterbalance the virtual blackout by the rest of the media due to their concerns that reporting such incidents would be inflammatory or even racist. WND considers it racist not to report racial abuse solely because of the skin color of the perpetrators or victims.)

Reporters with all the local media had trouble describing what happened over the weekend when 40,000 black people descended on Virginia Beach for a party.

Their audiences, however, did not.

Daniel Johnson was one of dozens of people who had no trouble talking about the lawbreakers and the widespread chaos, danger, thefts, violence and lawlessness they brought to Virginia Beach as part of College Beach Week 2013; a time when black students could “blow off some steam” before final exams.

“Because it was a group of young black college people everyone is scared to say anything for fear of being called a racist,” he said in a post to a Virginian-Pilot news story. “It is what it is – these people come to the Beach and do everything in there [sic] power to intimidate the local and visiting White people at the Beach – rude – disrespectful – dirty and violent – They come here and treat our beach like a toilet On Saturday afternoon I went to the Harris Teeter and a LARGE group of young black visitors were in the parking lot drinking and playing loud music – intimidating locals – I called the police and even though 2 cop cars drove by nothing was done!”

Police reported 300 emergency calls to 911 Saturday night involving at least three shootings, three stabbings and three robberies. That they know of. All during a four-hour period. People in Virginia Beach are furious and are taking to Facebook and the local news sites to have their say.

  1. Back in the late 80's there were riots and looting at Virginia Beach. When the whole area was laid to waste and the promise of a repeat of the same events the next year I had made a promise to my friends that we would break the riots up the next time. They did not return the next year. I had 2 cases of Portuguese 7.62 NATO with a brand new M1A. Sad I never got to put it through it's paces. I carry a Glock 21 in my Consule with 4 mags and 1 extension mag. 1 Keltec .380 and a tomahawk if I run out of bullets. A liberal will call this over kill. I was in a firefight and ran out of bullets and survived. That won't happen again. My local sheriff has stated there are 3 Mexican Drug Cartels active in my area. After the first documented violence happens I am going to put my FAL with EO Tech and a riot shotgun in my trunk.. As we have riots/flash mobs in VA and Cartels here I won't be outgunned.

  2. Texas now. I use to live in Southern Maryland. MD is so anti gun when I go up for my reunion I will get a room with a safe then drive over into the "occupied territory". I moved from MD in 1990.

    1. Thanks. When I went to the 2009 March on DC, I stayed across the river in Virginia for the same reason.

  5. It was supposed to be 'college' beach week but most of the people out were high schoolers! And to correct your judgment most of them weren't even black! There were many races present! So to blame the event specifically on black people is ridiculous! And for you to be "intimidated" by a couple of black people (most likely younger than you) drinking and playing loud music makes you seem extremely weak! Were you intimidated because you didn't like the music they were playing? Because the music was loud? Or simply because they were black? Did they speak to you or engage In any act with you to intimidate you? Or did their presence just scare you? That is exactly how you make it seem! Think about it..they didn't bother the police but they intimidated you! Figures! I will agree and say some black young people do tend to cause trouble and if everyone out that night was black this article wouldn't bother me but everyone was not so do not blame this situation on specifically black people! If you did not know there are more races than black and white!

  8. There used to be a similar event in Atlanta in the 90's called Freaknick so "college" students could blow off some steam. It had very few college students and was a reason for the predators to run wild spreading chaos and committing acts of violence on the community and each other. It was a good thing when the ATL took a hard stance telling the Freaks they were not welcome.

    1. I imagine the cities actually lose money in the long run since this type of activity drives tourists away.
