On
Saturday, May 25, the Texas Nationalist Movement received word that
performer and noted lip-sync mogul, Kanye West, would be engaging in a
guerilla marketing stunt for his newest music video by projecting it on
the wall of The Alamo at 11:30PM on Sunday.
We immediately alerted the Regional Director for Region 20, Jim Deslatte, and the Captain or our ceremonial Alamo Guard, Chris Jacka. Our members and supporters were mobilized for an onsite protest and a phone campaign.
Jerry Patterson, the head of the General Land Office, whose office is in charge of administration of The Alamo, the San Antonio Police Department and the Department of Public Safety were all notified by the TNM. Until the avalanche of phone calls, emails and Facebook messages by our members and supporters none of them knew about West's publicity stunt.
Daniel Miller, President of the Texas Nationalist Movement, received a personal message from Commissioner Jerry Patterson in the early evening that stated, "I think if Mr. Kanye is planning on doing something at the Alamo tonight he's gonna be disappointed."
Word spread quickly across Texas about our planned protest and people began arriving at The Alamo at 8:30 PM.
The members who arrived onsite first were notified by the Alamo Rangers, the official Alamo security details, that we were expected and that they would be working with SAPD to stop any attempt to defile the grounds of The Alamo by using it for a publicity stunt.

I happen to know "El Presidente" Miller personally as I was Region 5 coordinator of the TNM for a bit until I had to resign my post due to family obligations. I have heard the man speak his passion of an Independent Texas many times. He makes the bootlickers nervous and has yet to have any of the invited politicos show up for a debate, EVER. They know he knows the business and know that he's quite good at embarrassing those who talk the talk. El P is a good man. Long Live the Republic of Texas !
