  3. I'm a fan of Beck's. I'm watching the simulcast of his
radio show right now on Dish Network. With that said,
the man just flat does not understand the civil war or the
South in general and he is fueled by David Barton who is
equally as ignorant on that subject.

I keep hoping he will discover the truth and come around. If he doesn't, sooner or later, I'll give up on him.

Barton is a useful idiot and Beck knows full well the truth, as he certainly has gotten an earful on that from the Judge. He is a liar for personal gain.

  4. Has he started drinking again? Comparing Obama to President Jeff Davis?
Whats next, saying Eric Holder is like Stonewall Jackson or Al Sharpton like General Lee?
This is why I have stopped listening to and watching even the media which is supposed to
    be addressing our concerns.

  5. I keep telling everyone Beck is a COMPLETE fraud.
I can't stand him and never have cared for his show, EVEN before I knew this!

They know full well that all they state is absolute BS. I'll make a separate post on that again, but will leave my old link here and there are also many other links relating to him on NamSouth.

  6. Obama is a modern day Mussolini that can't get the trains to run on time and Beck is sitting on the train heading for the western front if it ever gets moving. I'm beginning to think that Judge Napolitano on Fox news is the only one from Fox that has ever gotten wise to the collectivists.

A true man of honor which reminds me of one of General Lee's quotes.

The forbearing use of power does not only form a touchstone, but the manner in which an individual enjoys certain advantages over others is a test of a true gentleman.

The power which the strong have over the weak, the employer over the employed, the educated over the unlettered, the experienced over the confiding, even the clever over the silly—the forbearing or inoffensive use of all this power or authority, or a total abstinence from it when the case admits it, will show the gentleman in a plain light.

The gentleman does not needlessly and unnecessarily remind an offender of a wrong he may have committed against him. He cannot only forgive, he can forget; and he strives for that nobleness of self and mildness of character which impart sufficient strength to let the past be but the past.

A true man of Honor feels humble himself when he cannot help humbling others.

What Anon doesn't understand is that Beck is a FEDERALIST and UNIONIST. This makes Beck a Yankee. A Yankee is a liberal, socialist and Marxist in varying degrees. All of these terms references one as being a HUMANIST. A humanist places their faith and hope in mankind, NOT God and they look to man for all their answers. Bottom line is, Glenn Beck is a HUMANIST masquerading as a Christian while preaching his humanist viewpoints on politics and history. And he profits greatly from this! As I said Glenn Beck is FRAUD, a total fraud and the truth is NOT in him! Never will be either! He is a toll of the Elite, plain and simple......

    Hi there!
Brock should have directed to you to my comments stating the difference between Yankees and Northerners. If I could remember where it was at here I would point you to it.

So don't get offended when you hear the word Yankee because it does NOT refer to all people from the North. Never has and never will. Yankee is a term more closely related to philosophy and ideology than a geographical location. Similar can be said in relation to a rebel, Confederate or Southerner, although one has to already the context from which the speaker is intending it.

I took the liberty to find another short explanation of the word "Yankee" I had wrote on another blog. It was easy to do a search for it there. Maybe this will help. And be sure to read the link, as it is very good.

I am going to point you to a short essay he has done titled, “The Yankee Problem”. Now before any of you from the North gets insulted please know this, Yankees has NEVER included everyone above Virginia or Maryland, and the articles opens by stating similar. To help you along and as a tip, simply substitute the word *LIBERAL* or *MARXIST* for the word Yankee. Then you’ll know what the old time real Southerners has ALWAYS referred to them as Yankees. They were the Liberal Marxists then and it is the same people today. You couldn’t talk sense into those people then and you can’t talk sense into them today. Some things never change. But the article gives you a good quick glimpse as to why the country is where it is today…

    2. Good evening, Mike, I just finished reading that very informative article by Clyde Wilson. I was born and raised in Jersey and was NEVER taught anything except that the Yankees = good; Southern rebels = bad . I know the difference between 'Yankee' and 'Northerner' now, but often still can't decide which definition is being talked about. It's difficult to get rid of years and years of miss-information and replace it with black and white facts. But I am learning thanks to Mr. Townsend who has been so very, very graciously taken a lot of his time to educate this old lady. I knew nothing of Southern culture, literature, politics, and the real reasons behind the Civil War and the destructive aftermath. Thank you again for your reply and recommending that article.

We're short good *Confederates* down here!
The war has taken its' toll on our numbers! ;)

Brock, did you explain to Phyllis what the real meaning of the word "Yankee* meant? Where it came from the Iroquois and Mohawk Indians, and in my reference to the New York Yankees baseball team? I always find that interesting...

Did you tell her the North Carolina League of the South president is from New York? Although he won't claim it now! --lol--

    2. I'm from the North myself, original Minnesotan, but we have a link to the Indians that were hung around the Ft. Ridgley area on Lincolns orders. When people hear ALL the story they suddenly realize that Lincoln was a power monger, not a national hero. And that's just the beginning of the Lincoln story. And yup, the two Thomas's cover the whole story very well.

They are Fire-Eaters all the way.
Remember our little differences on the Pledge and some the Federal issues concerning supporting a national government? My thoughts on the matter match exactly with theirs. None of us has any use for the Federal Government, for the ways it is presented. We also know how this has *Reconstructed* the thinking of people, which actually opposes any form of state allegiance as well as *Patriotism* as it was originally meant. (But I don't hold it against you cuz your heart is in the right place.)

BTW, I'm not a member, and that's because I belong to no organizations. I wish to serve all people equally regardless to their organizations as long as they have similar mindsets to mine. This would be harder if I had to follow guidelines, plus others would accuse me of being bias. But I know many of their members, including Michael Hill and I go to the Burlington, NC meetings sometimes. But if there was a group I would join, that would be it. The brain power in that group is incredible.

Also, while I'm thinking about it; Brock, have you consider putting any links for Free NC on FaceBook? It would be easier for me to get your site out if it was there. I have many friends that are on FB that I could direct here.

I have a friend from NJ who has lived here for about the past 15-20 years. He definitely does not claim NJ any more. Actually he gets defensive over it. He and his wife, who is from CA has portraits of Jefferson Davis, Jackson and R E Lee hanging in their house. They didn't know a lot of these things either when they first moved down and I started talking to them, but they were inquisitive and read a lot for themselves.

In interacting with society you only hear the one side and it for a purpose, the status quo. So I really don't expect many people to know these things. The meaning of a lot of this is also lost among most native Southerners, who, like everyone else across the country has been *Reconstructed* from the government's Point of view, mainly through education and the media. So, what you've learned and what is actually true is TWO entirely different things. You just have to ask a lot of questions and take it upon yourself to read a lot of *alternate* history. I've earned my degree in history but I will not claim it for several reasons. However I will use a different term and reference myself as a *Classical* Historian. (Long story, but I consider it superior to anything from any public college or university.)

If you are wanting to learn more about real Southern life and the way it was, may I suggest you start with some essays here:
    http://www.thesouthernpartisan.com/archives/education

You can also look over the rest of the site for other information. I know the owner personally. He lives just a few miles from me.

Let me add that the major difference between people is NOT where they live BUT the philosophy and faith they hold within themselves. 150 years ago there was no such thing as a Marxist, as Karl Marx was formulating this philosophy at that very time. Liberals were actually thought of as being conservatives in this country, meaning the politicians as a whole, because the form of governance, a Republic was a new concept when applied with limited Democratic vote. This in itself defined all politicians as liberal because the old ways were thrown out with the king, which means conservatism was not acceptable either. (Conservative means holding on or *conserving* the set standards.)

Socialism was a somewhat more known term, but it also was a negative term that no one wanted to be associated with. This left the word *Yankee*, especially in the eyes of Southerners and actually many Northerners, as the word which denoted socialized concepts which we know today as Liberalism, Socialism, Marxism and Humanism. Believe it or not, there was a time in Northern states that calling someone a Yankee was a fighting insult, especially in the New York countryside.

After Lincoln's War the Republicans felt more at ease touting this socialism, tot he point they actually coined a word for it, *Progressive*. It was already used as such but the Republicans actually took the word and campaigned on it. Sounding not as offensive as socialist, it was a rallying call for the modern day Liberals who wanted change in US Constitutional values and laws. Progressive was their by word for *Hope and Change*! (Where have I heard that before?)

BTW-- Something to think about. Many Southern politicians, writers, officers and scholars had written before Lincoln's War, that war was coming because of the *Yankee* problem. You may be surprised at what was said and who said it. After the war, some of the same as well as others said it would have to be finished because of the way it ended. This is why you see or hear of those signs/mottoes saying, "The South is going to rise again"! Also religion, now as then played a BIG part in the differences between the two peoples.

    Any questions, just ask.
