Surrender

Obama has surrendered. NBC reports, “Obama will seek Congressional approval before any military action against Syria”. Strikes would be “effective tomorrow or next week or one month from now,” the President was quoted as saying.

As I wrote upon hearing that the British had pulled out of his ‘limited but decisive’ symbolic gesture: “it’s over. … Now, with Britain out of the operation, Obama faces the prospect of going into Syria almost literally alone, without the UN, NATO, Congress, or even the UK to back him up. Two courses are now open to him. He can climb down as best he can and pretend he’s changed his mind or he can go forward risking a wider war for nothing.”

It just took him that many more hours to realize that Steiner was not coming.

But the crisis has not yet ended. It’s just moved from Syria to Washington. There is now a power vacuum in Washington. For either there’s a new President Obama — one who has learned to share power not only with the other branches, but also with other points of view within America — or a new President in the manner of Gerald Ford after Nixon left. The old omnipotent President Obama, able to make the seas fall, the child of the world uniquely equipped to build bridges everywhere, answerable only to himself, is gone.

As America’s leader the old Obama handed Syria, Russia and Iran and huge victory. Gave it to them on a platter with his vaunting, invincible stupidity. In the process, not only has he shot America in the foot on the world stage but he will have emboldened the Ayatollahs to forge ahead with their nuclear ambitions. He will have encouraged Russia to make a comeback in the region. We will shortly feel these effects in Egypt, Iran and even in Europe.

  1. Obama wants a diminished America and American Military....but he really wants something else....a wounded American Military. He wants a battle in the region where things go right for him and wrong for our Military....and I believe Rinos like John McCain, Grahm and Demos like Reed and Pilosi will get Obama the strike authorization. What comes next is an "out of control" situation...like Benghazi...where our forces are killed....and in large numbers...even to the point of an aircraft carrier sinking. This is all good news to Obama and people who support him and then the calls will come for the UN to help the US get out of the mess that Obama has caused.

  2. Not surprising , the ONLY thing this criminal cabal of amateurs HAS been successful at , is picking the pockets of, and further alienating the productive citizens of this country from the Federal Government. The buffoons they have put forward on the world stage ( Kerry and Powers to name a couple ) have so emboldened our enemies that any further attempts at anything in the way of foreign policy will be viewed by friend and foe alike with , derision , contempt , skepticism and loathing .Uh...one other thought ....." he who must NOT be criticized in any way " is now sitting in the oval office with his bottom lip pooched out looking like the overgrown spoiled brat , sulking and scheming revenge on those who had the audacity to tell him " No ". 3. Obama, V. Jaret and the Wookie are if anything more dangerous now than before. As soon as the crack high wears off they will start looking to place blame, and seek revenge. Watch out they could turn this on us in a heart beat. IF they can find the money to pay the MERCs.(That's the real reason this all fell on it's ass-the money ran out-and MERCs don't take IOU's)---Ray

  4. The world and especially our enemies must be rolling on the floor with laughter. I mean really could the President look more like an idiot that does not have a clue what he is doing. I pray every night America survives another day but with this level of incompetence leading America we cannot last much longer.

  5. "...The old omnipotent President Obama...is gone."

I'll remember that next time he issues another one of his executive orders against guns and ammunition or limiting our rights in some other way. Perhaps I'll send the WH an email reminding them they're powerless.

  6. Suppose obama tried to start a war and the military commanders grew a pair of balls and refused to play along? Can you imagine how obama would scream as he was being arrested for treason, or something?
