Gun Confiscation: Organized, Sanctioned Terrorism

The State of Connecticut is writing checks its police forces cannot cash. The backlash from Officer Joe Peterson's tirade against a gun owner, culminating in his statement that he couldn't wait to get the order to kick in John Cinque's door (because Cinque openly refuses to obey the ban) grew to such proportions that the police chief sat down with John Cinque to see how to diffuse the threats coming into the Branford Police Department, not just Joe Peterson, either.

While I strongly disagree with Cinque's proposal to quiet the storm, it shows that when the people decide that the government is out of line, their resistance will bring even the typically arrogant police department to a point of desperation. It is instructive.

  1. LEO 's know they can easily start the type of slaughter they are not use to. One which is the exact opposite of what they accustomed to. A slaughter that finds them on the receiving end. Their sheer lack of numbers would not enable them to survive a single week.

    1. Doubtful, but hopefully the bad ones will wise up.

  2. If I recall correctly....Mr. Cinque set forth a series of conditions that the police would probably elect not to meet before he would aid in toning down the situation.

"By in large today’s LEOs possess a superior moral squint, an excess of testosterone and an abject fear of dying. They’re tough monkies when it’s 5 to 1 in their favor. One on one……not so much. THEY chose to make the law abiding citizenry their enemy, the citizens didn’t." ~Gringo Viejo, commenter

      Reminds me of another group.

  3. A friend, former LEO himself, told me this a few years ago. He said, go to your local
school and look around. You'll find kids playing sports, kids in the band, kids in the drama club, debate team, honor society, etc. Then look over in the corner and you'll see a few kids wearing dark hoodies, looking down at the floor with blank expressions.
Wait a few years and those kids, the ones in the dark hoodies, will be wearing a uniform and a badge.

There's a lot of truth to his observation.

  4. The power hungry elite are going to overstep. When that happens I fear the outcome. I am sure those in power believe they can control anything. They are wrong. If it is a minor pushback it may be contained. I however believe there is such an underlying anger and mistrust of government it will spread across the nation like a wildfire. Cities will become war zones of living hell. The police are barely able to keep them from erupting now. The police will become targets not only of criminals but also of normal honest citizens tired of having their doors kicked in by police thugs. The police had better be scared because when they lose support of the citizens they will not last long.
