Senator Attempts to Disarm Sheriffs at Oklahoma State Capitol

“One of the senators, who they wouldn’t tell us, complained because we were armed in the building”

Over 40 Sheriffs walked out of the Oklahoma State Capitol this week after an unknown senator demanded they remove their firearms.

After entering the capitol for an annual meet and greet with legislators, the state’s sheriffs were confronted and given an ultimatum, disarm or leave the building.

“One of the senators, who they wouldn’t tell us, complained because we were armed in the building,” Wagoner county sheriff Bob Colbert told KTUL News.

According to Colbert, the senator not only refused to identify, but also ordered others in the capitol to relay the message.

“Everybody in that building knew who we were,” Colbert said.

After being given their options, all 40 sheriffs refused to comply with the senator’s demand and walked out of the building, firearms holstered.

“So we all packed up and left,” Colbert said. “Pretty sad day for me.”

  2. Hang that senator. What a contemptible POS, he does not have the manhood/balls take responsibility for his actions, but hides like the repugnant, spineless coward that he is. Make no mistake, that vermin will be the first to order those same sherrifs to shoot others that stand in his way.

  3. Smooth move on said spineless one's part.
Alienating LEO's is counterproductive to the rest of his evil plans.

He/she will be the first and the loudest one crying for armed protection when things get sporty.

  4. They did the right thing. That cowardly little POS will be outed, and it won't go over well with the people. When he/she is removed from office they can move to NYC to dwell with others of that stripe.

  5. i got a different take on it. While I am sure the un-named senator was a "progressive". I have to laugh at the outcome of this incident.

SO office it sure sucks to be treated like one of us "civilians" don't it?
Do you think that you or I would have been allowed to choose between disarming or leaving? No we would have been on the news either dead in a stand off with State police or arrested for trying to bring a firearm into the Capital building, no doubt with crazy tea party racist terrorism in mind.
I will respect lawmen and their rights when they return the favor.
