Save your Confederate money boys, the South's gonna' rize again! :)

Supporters of Scottish independence have taken their first opinion poll lead since the referendum campaign began, according to a YouGov survey for the Sunday Times newspaper.

With less than two weeks to go before the Sept. 18 vote, the poll puts the "Yes" to independence campaign on 51 percent, with the unionists on 49 percent, overturning a 22-point lead for the unionist campaign in just a month, the Sunday Times said.

  1. If this passes, watch their population grow. I wonder if they'll put a halt to the Muslim scourge?

  2. I have just slightly been following this. Does anyone know if they vote for independence will they also separate from the EU at the same time? If they also lose their EU membership and have a brain, they will stay independent from them also. If they do, they could quickly become the new European Switzerland for money. Anyone with money and a brain is looking for a haven to live. Let us all hope the socialist influence is weak.

    1. I don't and yes, unless they leave the commies behind, it won't accomplish much.

According to the THE SCOTSMAN (link above) of the same date and subject,

"Writing in the Sunday Mirror, former prime minister Gordon Brown acknowledged that the referendum battle was proving tougher than some had expected - and laid the blame squarely with the Tories.

“Why has it been difficult to win Scottish votes in support of this principle of sharing that most Scots hold dear?” the Labour MP for Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath wrote.

'Many are angry that the Bedroom Tax was imposed upon Scots against their will while at the same time the very wealthy received tax cuts."

The "principle of sharing" is a troublesome phrase to me, sounding like some Progressive gobbledygook meaning "socialism". So I looked-up "Bedroom Tax" and found this:

"Since 1 April 2013, welfare reforms have cut the amount of benefit that people can get if they are deemed to have a spare bedroom in their council or housing association home. This measure only applies to housing benefit claimants of working age, and is commonly referred to as the bedroom tax, size criteria, under-occupation penalty or removal of the spare room subsidy."

So one is taxed for unoccupied rooms in the house? And the Sots don't like forced socialism? And all the tax money goes to the central-authorities in London and the benefits are doled-out as they see fit? Does this sound familiar?

Many American Southerners are of Scots-Irish descent. We voted to secede on unfair tariffs and Lincoln and his goons destroyed us. But these Scotsmen get to vote on secession? Can we get a recount?
