The
shooting looked bad. But that is when the professor is at his best. A
black motorist, pulled to the side of the road for a turn-signal
violation, had stuffed his hand into his pocket. The white officer
yelled for him to take it out. When the driver started to comply, the
officer shot him dead.
The driver was unarmed.
Taking
the stand at a public inquest, William J. Lewinski, the psychology
professor, explained that the officer had no choice but to act.
“In simple terms,” the district attorney in Portland, Ore., asked, “if I see the gun, I’m dead?”
“In simple terms, that’s it,” Dr. Lewinski replied.

Transforming America into the streets of Fallujah one dead motorist at a time. Turning veterans, with PTSD and the experience that each and every person they encounter might be out to kill them, into cops is a stupid and no doubt deliberate idea. Once again we suffer the consequences of politicians refusing to consider the possibility of unintended consequences. Or did they?
ReplyDeleteOr did they?

DeleteI keep reading this blog because almost every day better men (and women) than I post comments on it. Such is Skybill. I would really like to see the "Screaming Gypsy Bandits" ride by while I heaved up to my feet to salute them. There are obits in the Denver Post today of two men almost exactly my age, 82. I ride my electrified "Bandit" scooter chair for them.
ReplyDeleteOn August 31 I will mark 31 years without a beer and would happily buy a case or more for any secessionist riders that come by my house, My hope is recharged. Ride on, Bandits.
Hear! Hear!
